As we watch the trailer for God of War Ragnarok, we have high expectations. As the ninth installment in the God of War series, this is the sequel to 2018’s jaw-dropping title. The God of War was all about ancient Greece and Scandinavia, Kratos fighting monsters, and Norse Gods.

Atreus is expected to be more confident and older in the trailer, and the next story will revolve around his giant genes. Santa Monica Studio’s God of War is one of PlayStation’s most well-known franchises, and it has produced a number of fantastic games, some of which are better. God of War Kratos

KratosWar God in Greek mythology. As hundreds of years passed after wiping out the Greek pantheon, Kratos came to Midgard, met the giantess Faye, and married her, giving birth to Atreus. It is sometimes difficult for Kratos to relate to and connect with his son, though the two bond over their God-given heritage and scatter Faye’s ashes from the highest peak in Jotunheim. In spite of old age and injuries, Kratos is still a god of strength and power, wielding the frosty Leviathan ax and the fiery Blades of Chaos.

Thor- Norse God of Thunder

Thor is the Norse God of Thunder and the son of Odin, one of the most dangerous beings in existence and the enforcer of Asgard. Almost all of the giants in the Nine Realms have been eliminated by him alone. Mjolnir, his hammer, was crafted by Sindri and Brok. This hammer always hits its target and channels Thor’s lightning. Due to the death of his sons, Magni and Modi, he seeks vengeance against Kratos and Atreus.

Odin

The Allfather, the Raven God, the ruler of the Vanir and Aesir. The list of Odin’s names and titles is almost as endless as the plots he has constructed. The identity of Odin has yet to be revealed, but he seeks control over everything and everyone within the Nine Realms. Odin seems to be a tyrant, but Kratos and Atreus are grimly warned by Mimir that he is almost as clever as he thinks he is.

The God of War – Atreus

One of the two main protagonists, Atreus is Kratos’ son who accompanies him on his quest in God of War. Like his father Kratos Atreus, he is skilled with a bow and arrow. However, unlike Kratos, Atreus can use magic. It’s revealed that his mother is Faye from a previous relationship between her and Kratos. He dies while helping Kratos defeat Baldur. Upon his death, he gives his remaining power to Atreus who defeats Baldur with it in order for them both to be brought back by Helios so they can finish their quest together.

Angrboda

Young Giantess Angrboda is a mysterious new character.

Durlin

Another new character, Durlin appears to be a dwarf merchant of some kind.

The Valkyrie – Tyr

In Norse mythology, Tyr (also known as Tiw) is a god associated with law and heroic glory. He’s depicted wielding his sword, Gungnir. It’s not yet clear how well these two characters will work together in God of War: it’s possible they’re enemies or allies – or maybe they’ll start out on one side but change as events unfold? For what it’s worth, Thor has a similar relationship with Odinson in comics; although their first meeting is almost comically hostile, they later become staunch allies and confidantes. Click here for more information about Thor.

Freya – The Witch

We already know quite a bit about Freya, but there’s a lot more we don’t know. Her weapon, for example: What is it? How does it work? We don’t know yet, but our first impressions are that she has a staff that allows her to perform powerful magic and deadly attacks. The second gif above shows what looks like poison flowing from her staff into a small puddle on the ground. Later in another part of God of War gameplay footage, we see her stabbing what appears to be an energy field with her staff; perhaps she uses it as some sort of conduit for elemental attacks.

Sindri – The Dwarf King

Sindri is one of two blacksmiths in God of War. He and his brother Brok are sons of Ivaldi. Sindri specializes in crafting magical items and weapons, including all sorts of Dwarven weapons like hammers, axes, swords, and battle-axes, with gems embedded into them, which makes them stronger against certain enemies or imbued with special abilities. The real Sindri is mentioned only once by his brother Brok. In God Of War III, Loki mentions that some stories say that it was actually Sindri who crafted Mjölnir for Odin instead of Brok (but he didn’t), though Loki did not specify what these stories were.[2]

Brok and Sindri – Brothers, Blacksmiths, Warriors

Sindri and Brok are brothers, blacksmiths, and warriors. Although these two start out as innocent dwarfs living in isolation from the world, they do not remain so for long. After learning of a golden arm from an old man in their village, these two end up setting off on a journey that takes them across Midgard and beyond. During their travels, they encounter some heroes who join them on their quest: Atreus (Kratos’ son), Mimir (an elderly blind sage), Tyr (god of war), Jormungandr (giant serpent), Fenrir (wolf god), and more. These characters all play roles that eventually influence how well you are able to take down Baldur — whether it’s through deadly weapons or useful skills.

Skogur – The Forest Giant

There are a lot of characters in God of War and they all have names, motivations, personalities, and goals. If you’re just starting out in God of War or are eager for more information about Kratos or Atreus as you embark on your new adventure, then here’s some additional reading. Here is a full guide to every God of War character – part one introduces players to Kratos and Atreus. Part two takes a closer look at Kratos as he appears in God of War: Ascension. Part three explores an entirely different side of Kratos from his time with Talia al Ghul. There’s also part four, which focuses on Freya, Mimir, Thor…and even Santa!

Other Relevant God of War Characters

Though fans love him, Kratos isn’t a character from Norse mythology. However, there are some other relevant characters who will be making an appearance in God of War Ragnarok. These characters are Odin, Freya, Tyr, and Idunn. Odin is a major Norse god—in fact, he’s actually the king of Asgard and leader of all Norse gods. He’s powerful beyond measure; his main weapon is called Gungnir, an enchanted spear that lets him control the weather (including creating lightning bolts). His sons Thor and Loki are also going to appear in God of War Ragnarok too.

God of War Ragnarok 2022

Kratos has returned. The God of War returns in God of War Ragnarok, a new epic adventure set in the world of Norse mythology. With a new story, new characters, and new gameplay, players will explore an entirely new world and battle new enemies in an attempt to defeat the god of destruction, Hela.

In this adventure, Kratos will take on the role of Thor Odinson, the powerful brother of Odin, who has been imprisoned on the island of Vanaheimr for centuries. Along the way, players will encounter familiar faces and fight new enemies such as the fire giant Surt, the ice giant Jormungandr, and the goddess Hel. With a thrilling story and spectacular graphics, God of War Ragnarok is sure to captivate fans of the God of War series.

In God of War Ragnarok, Kratos will team up with otherworldly allies to take on an apocalyptic threat. The game will reportedly feature an entirely new combat system that allows players to freely attack and dodge enemies while countering with powerful melee and ranged attacks. Players will also be able to execute spectacular combos and use environmental elements to their advantage.

The game is expected to be even more visceral and jaw-dropping than previous installments in the franchise, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it!
